This article will display some information about some quick troubleshooting tips.
If you're having trouble installing podium, please review that you meet the minimum system requirements to use podium. if you meet the system requirements listed below and you're still having trouble installing podium, please make sure that you have the latest updates from Microsoft for your operating system.
Also note: Podium only works with office 2007 and office 2010 32-bit edition.
One of the most common installation issues with podium is that users don't have all the updates from the Microsoft server for their operating system or their office installation.
In Windows XP, open up a web browser and go to www.WindowsUpdate.com and click on the custom or express button to get all the updates. You you may have to repeat this step a number of times after each reboot, to make sure that all the files have been updated. Many times Microsoft makes users reboot their system after each product update is applied so this may take a while. Come back to this website and check for updates again until it says you have no more updates.
In Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can follow the same procedure as above but instead of going to the web URL listed above, simply click on the start button and type in Windows update and press enter on your keyboard. This will open up the Windows update application. In the left-hand panel there is a link for check for updates, click that link and let the application search for all updates on the Microsoft server. You will need to continue to apply all the updates it asks for until it says you have no more updates.
Now that we have updates out-of-the-way, just double check and make sure that you do not have the 64-bit version of Microsoft PowerPoint. The fastest way to check in office 2010 or namely PowerPoint 2010 is to click on the File tab, and then select Help.
If you have PowerPoint 2007, then you don't need to worry about whether you have a 32-bit version or 64-bit version. Office 2007/PowerPoint 2007 was only sold in 32-bit versions.
My Presentations Thumbnail Issues
Some of you may be experiencing some issues with the thumbnail display in My Presentations.
After you click on Update My Presentations and then when you click on My Presentations you only see the generic thumbnail which shows a PowerPoint icon and you do not see the thumbnail of the actual PowerPoint template or the PowerPoint presentation.
To get the thumbnails in My Presentations to display correctly you need to install the latest service pack for Microsoft Office.
